Comfort Safari Experience

You’ll need to arrange your flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) for domestic travel. Upon arrival, a WeGuide Africa Safaris representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. That evening or the following morning, you’ll meet your local guide for a detailed safari briefing. You’ll spend your first night at a peaceful accommodation, which is the perfect place to relax before your African adventure begins. This marks the start of your unforgettable Tanzania safari experience.

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we set off for Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through it. This “river of warthogs” serves as the only water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season.

In some areas, the vegetation is quite dense, featuring elephant grass and acacia woodlands. The park is renowned for its elephant families, which can often be seen gathering by the river. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by various predators, including lions and leopards.

Tarangire National Park is home to the largest population of elephants in Tanzania and boasts more breeding species of birds than any other place on Earth. It is the best location to observe these gentle giants in their natural habitat, from the adorable calves to the impressive bulls.

After enjoying a packed lunch, we will head to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at Eileen’s Tree Inn or a similar location.

On the early morning after breakfast, we will depart for Ngorongoro Crater. Upon your first glimpse of the Ngorongoro Crater, it will feel like stepping into a forgotten world. You’ll have the chance to spot the endangered black rhino as well as large prides of lions. This remarkable crater was formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed in on itself approximately two to three million years ago. It is renowned for its geological wonders and for being a natural reserve that hosts some of the highest densities of large mammal populations in all of Africa.

The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself. Once you reach the crater floor, you’ll quickly find yourself surrounded by vast numbers of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 species of birds. The crater offers the best opportunity to see the elusive black rhino, which can sometimes be seen grazing in the open grasslands. After enjoying a packed lunch, we will continue our journey with a drive to Serengeti National Park. We will have dinner and spend the night at Embalakai Camp.

You will enjoy an early breakfast before setting off on our game-viewing drive at around 6:30 a.m. We will have 6 to 7 hours to explore this incredible park. The Serengeti is home to an abundance of wildlife, including impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos. However, it is most famous for its great migrating herds of zebras (approximately 250,000), wildebeest (about 1.5 million), and antelope (around 500,000). The animals’ migration is determined by rainfall and varies from year to year. In addition to the migrating herds, we may encounter predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions in their natural habitat.

We will return to Karatu around 2:00 p.m., arriving at our carefully selected mid-range partner lodge. Dinner will be served at an excellently appointed restaurant, where you can also enjoy a relaxing dip in the pool if desired. Afterward, you might enjoy a digestif by the fire beneath the vast African sky, followed by a restful night in our spacious quarters, dreaming of wild cats. Overnight accommodations will be at Eileen’s Tree Inn.

Early breakfast will be served at the Lodge. We make a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara, a relatively small but diverse park 120 km west of Arusha, is named for the shallow salt lake that occupies a good seventy percent of the park’s land. Flooding and drying seasonally, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park we will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging on trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. We return to Arusha after a packed lunch, our adventure having here come to its inevitable close, arriving in time for your flight back home or a flight to Zanzibar.
