day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we set off for Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through it. This “river of warthogs” serves as the only water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season.

In some areas, the vegetation is quite dense, featuring elephant grass and acacia woodlands. The park is renowned for its elephant families, which can often be seen gathering by the river. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by various predators, including lions and leopards.

Tarangire National Park is home to the largest population of elephants in Tanzania and boasts more breeding species of birds than any other place on Earth. It is the best location to observe these gentle giants in their natural habitat, from the adorable calves to the impressive bulls.

After enjoying a packed lunch, we will head to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at Marera Valley Lodge or a similar location.

day 3

Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we set off toward the fertile highlands, where the Iraqw people cultivate wheat, coffee, and corn. As we pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the Ngorongoro Crater—one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders. By midday, we arrive at Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s largest national park, spanning an impressive 15,000 square kilometers.

The Serengeti boasts a rich variety of landscapes, including vast grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannahs, and rugged mountains. It is also home to the world-renowned Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and antelope journey in search of fresh grazing and water. Depending on the season, you may witness this awe-inspiring natural spectacle.

After an exciting afternoon game drive, we continue to the Seronera Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge or camp.

day 4

North Serengeti Following the Migration

This morning, we embark on an en-route game drive toward the captivating Northern Serengeti, a region renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and exceptional wildlife encounters. Stretching approximately 100 kilometers from Seronera, this area features gently rolling terrain punctuated by seasonal rivers, scenic hills, and dramatic granite formations known as kopjes.
Among the highlights is the stunning Lobo Kopje, a striking geological formation that provides a unique vantage point for viewing wildlife and soaking in the serene beauty of the savannah. The Northern Serengeti is home to a rich and permanent population of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and various antelope species.
Unlike the more frequented southern regions of the park, the Northern Serengeti remains relatively untouched, offering a more exclusive and tranquil safari experience. During August, this region becomes the stage for one of nature’s greatest spectacles—the Great Wildebeest Migration. With a bit of luck, we may witness the awe-inspiring Mara River crossing, as massive herds of wildebeest and zebra brave powerful currents and lurking crocodiles in their desperate quest for greener pastures.
After a thrilling full-day safari adventure, we make our way to our comfortable lodge or camp for dinner. As night falls over the vast Serengeti plains, we settle in for a restful night under the glittering African sky—an unforgettable conclusion to a day on the ‘Endless Plain.’

day 5

5 North Serengeti

After an early breakfast, we set out on an exhilarating game drive to take full advantage of the day’s wildlife viewing opportunities. With luck on our side, we may witness one of the most dramatic events in the animal kingdom—the legendary Mara River crossing.
As part of the Great Migration, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and other grazers, gather anxiously at the river’s edge. They stand shoulder to shoulder, gazing across the fast-flowing Mara River toward the promise of rich, green grass in the Masai Mara. Tension fills the air as the herd hesitates, knowing the dangers that await in the murky water below—powerful currents and lurking crocodiles.
Then, suddenly, one brave wildebeest makes the first move, leaping into the river. In a heartbeat, the rest of the herd surges forward in a chaotic, thundering stampede. Those who survive the perilous journey across are rewarded with the lush grazing lands of Kenya’s famed Masai Mara—an essential stop on their migratory route.
This unforgettable scene, filled with raw emotion, survival, and instinct, is a true highlight of any Northern Serengeti safari and a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife spectacle.

day 6

Central Serengeti

After breakfast, we journey back toward Seronera, continuing our exploration of the Serengeti’s vast and awe-inspiring wilderness. Along the way, we enjoy more thrilling opportunities to witness the abundant wildlife that calls this iconic national park home.
In addition to the migrating herds, this region offers excellent chances to encounter Africa’s most elusive predators. Keep your eyes peeled for leopards lounging in acacia trees, cheetahs scanning the horizon for prey, and lions patrolling their territory—all playing their essential part in the intricate circle of life.
After a rewarding and extensive game drive, we arrive at our accommodation for a hearty dinner. As night falls, we gather around the warmth of the campfire, sharing stories and reflecting on the day’s adventures beneath the vast canopy of the African night sky. The Serengeti, often called the ‘Endless Plain,’ once again enchants us with its timeless beauty and untamed spirit.

day 7

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will embark upon another incredible game drive in The Serengeti before traveling to the Ngorongoro Crater. Arriving at the edge of the crater in the afternoon, you will have your first glimpse of what awaits you the following day – glistening streams, open grassland, and an infinite number of animals. You will spend the night at a nearby lodge on the rim of the crater

meal:

day 8

Ngorongoro Crater & Overnight in Karatu

Very early in the morning after an early breakfast, we descend down onto the crater floor for a day
of wildlife viewing in one of the most incredible places on Earth where the animals roam freely
through the unfenced reserves offering us an uninterrupted game viewing experience. The Caldera
was formed about three million years ago with the massive explosion of a volcano that rivalled
Kilimanjaro in height. It is 610 m deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometres. It is an enclosed
ecosystem. The word Ngorongoro represents the sound of the bells that the Maasai cows wear
around their necks. It is one of the best places in Africa to view the big five, as well as wildebeest,
gazelle, reedbuck, and many others, along with about 500 bird species. You will stop for a picnic
lunch near the hippo lake and in the afternoon, you will ascend up the steep road out of the crater.
You will overnight in the nearby town of Karatu.

day 9

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After breakfast, you will drive to our final destination on this epic safari – Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. It is so named for the shallow salt lake that covers about seventy percent of the surface area, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and the extraordinary region of 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and, with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs. After lunch, we head back to Arusha where we will arrive in the late afternoon.
